Douglas Mill Bradford - Before and After Cleaning

Projects undertaken ranged from a few hundred pounds to over £200K. All of these contractors demanded the following qualities from their sub-contractor:

WGL Stoneclean have met and exceeded these requirements in all instances. Prior to work commencing on a major refurbishment job we will, with agreement and once access is available re-survey the building to establish a revised schedule of work with the CA and main contractor. We will also ensure that any potential variations encountered once work has commenced are reported back electronically to the relevant QS for a speedy decision to be reached. Payment applications and invoicing will be raised as major and readily identifiable stages are completed, in order that progress can be quickly checked. We have sufficient personnel and financial resources to ensure that should we encounter unexpected delays during the project we can bring the job back onto schedule with minimum disruption.

Our company’s Health and Safety Policy is available on this website for ready downloading. The Policy is regularly reviewed by our Health and Safety advisor – Paul Stokes – a member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety. Paul is also a practical man with over 20 year’s experience of the Construction Industry. Prior to commencing work all WFL Stoneclean teams will supply site management with site specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Health and Safety issues are regularly raised at our weekly Monday morning meetings for all personnel covering the issues of the week. WGL Stoneclean is a CHAS approved sub-contractor, and has been for the last four years. Our certification has just been renewed until 2012. All WGL Stoneclean electrical equipment is regularly PAT tested and all our blast pots inspected annually.

The company’s commitment to training is illustrated by the award of four NVQ Level II Certificates in Façade Restoration in 2007/8 to our operatives. These certificates were four of the first 25 certificates awarded in the UK. Our operatives also hold IPAF Certification for the use of truck mounted, self propelled and scissor lift operation. Copies of these cards are available on request. Over the last five years, in-house training courses have covered the use of specialist cleaning equipment for both abrasive blasting and super-heated steam generators, scaffold tower erection, working at height regulations, Vibration at work Regulations, Management of Hazardous Chemicals, Maintenance and Inspection of Plant and Equipment. We are currently pursuing the award of Heritage CSCS cards for our operatives to facilitate their work on buildings constructed before 1919.

In the last five years we have tackled and developed a number of innovative procedures to complement our core activities. They include:
