At the annual awards dinner, held at the National Railway Museum York, WGL Stoneclean has an outstanding evening being shortlisted for its work under “Innovation” for the cleaning of stained stainless steel cladding at City Walk, Leeds as well as “Heritage” for the works undertaken on Penn House, Bootham, York. Finally WGL were runners-up for the “Value” award for the cleaning and consolidation of 6/10 Railway Street, Huddersfield. WGL Stoneclean were, by far, the smallest company featured at the awards ceremony and we celebrated our success appropriately!

Our first “Stately” Home

This 18th Century Hall in South Derbyshire is now in private hands. The first part of our contract was to clean the stonework of three elevations to remove the atmospheric staining of the last two hundred years. Our Steamacc Process applied from Access Platforms and our own scaffolding has revealed the startling colours of the original stone. We will be returning towards the end of the summer to repoint and repair the cleaned stonework.

Our largest ever contract

In February 2015, we commenced work on our largest ever contract, worth over £150 K, on the A and B Mills of the Dean Clough complex in Halifax. (picture attached). Once the largest industrial complex in the World, the Dean Clough site has been redeveloped by the Hall family over the last 20 years. The final part of the transformation of the complex the A and B Mills was entrusted to J F Finnegan Ltd of Sheffield at the start of 2015. In turn, we we contracted to undertake the internal blasting of internal walls and staircases to remove over 150 years of paints layers as well as cleaning the stonework of the external elevations with our Steamacc Process. On the conclusion of cleaning works we will also undertake extensive re-pointing of the stonework and a large number of masonry repairs. we expect to complete our works towards the end of the year.
